In the spirit of Halloween, I had to show off my little monkey!

Just wanted to share a few from my sister's family session. Aren't they just a bunch of cuties???

I photographed my sister's family this weekend and brought Nina along to "help". Well, I took advantage of the opportunity to get a few of her too.
Holding uncle Chris' hand...
I was really glad to get the one below. That's Nina, just the way I see her every day. That smile is so HER...

Ok, who taught Nina how to say "cheese"??? It certainly wasn't me!

I don't normally run specials, but I just got a special offer from the company who makes the gallery wrap canvas', so I'm excited to pass it on to you!

For the month of November, if you order a gallery wrap canvas wall portrait 24x30 or larger, you'll get an 11x14 gallery wrap for FREE! Yay! Orders must be placed in the month of November to get the deal.

Ok how exciting is that? Well it is for me! I love canvas wraps and I think everyone should own at least one. It's perfect timing for holiday gift giving too, so you'll get the big one and you can give the other as a gift to grandma, or someone else. Or the other way around if you're feeling generous....

I thought I'd take a moment to talk about an event I had the opportunity to photograph recently. It's called "Memories in the Making" and supports the Alzheimer's Association, http://www.alz.org/ helping to fund research in hopes of finding a cure. My job was to photograph the kids and families at the event. I then posted them online for the families to view and order. Once the orders are complete the proceeds will be donated to Alzheimer's Association. Thanks to Laura Dierke for organizing the event! Here are some of my favorites from that day:

Hey! I've had a lot of model releases coming in lately, so thanks so much! I'll have to start posting lots of pictures now! The wall portrait drawing will be the first week of November, so if you haven't sent yours in yet, make sure to do it soon. Anyway, these little cuties were so much fun to work with! They had the most gorgeous blue eyes. The oldest was actually one of my contest winners from last year, and I finally got my chance to work with him and his family. They were a blast, and showed lots of personality, which is always a plus. Here are some of my favorites from their session:

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm now fully booked for the holiday season. The next opening is December 17th. After the first week of December there is no guarantee that orders will be ready in time for Christmas. I am now scheduling appointments for 2008 as well. Thanks!

I've been meaning to do some updating on my website and blog, as well as get my brand new senior website up and running! Here's a preview of the senior site. Isn't it cool? www.bludomain1.com/karilayland

ANYWAY, I know the pictures on my website have been the same for a long long time, and I think it's time to change that! Here's the problem. I've been way too lazy about collecting model release forms. It's basically permission from parents to use pictures of their kids on the website, blog, and advertising. SO, here's what I'm going to do. If you've had a session with me in 2007, I would love to use some of your pictures to update my portfolio. I've added a link below for the model release. Please print that out and send it to the following address:

As a thank you, I'll be doing a drawing in about a month with all the model releases that I've received. The winner will receive a wall portrait of their choice - ANY SIZE! Sound good?
If you've already signed a release, don't worry, you're already entered into the drawing.
Thanks guys!
